Ultracor Receives Phase II NASA SBIR
June 1, 2011. Livermore, California. Ultracor, a market leader in engineered composite honeycomb design and fabrication, announced that it had been awarded a NASA Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contract to continue development of a silicon-carbide ceramic honeycomb for advanced flight structures. Based upon its successful completion of a Phase I SBIR focusing on the development and mechanical testing of C-SiC honeycomb, Ultracor received the follow-on funding to continue development of ultra-high-temperature CMC honeycomb.
